D&AD - Wood Pencil for IMAX

National Art Gallery exhibition
Hidden Identity is a tonal pencil drawing I did in 2016 was talent-spotted at my end-of-year art exhibition and selected to be exhibited at the National Art Gallery that summer.

The cycle of the seasons popup book
In one of my Master's degree units at UAL, we were given a task inspired by Pentagram, which suggests that one of the best ways to kick off any design project is to start by thinking about the essence of a circle, square, or triangle. The carousel below is my final resolution to the Pentagram brief. To me, a circle represents the cycle of life: we are born, we live, and we die. In my illustrations, this idea is expressed through the cycle of the four seasons. I handmade this book, cutting each piece with a Cricut machine.
Procreate pet illustrations
I had some fun over the summer personalising stickers of my bunny, Oreo. After posting the illustration on social media, my friends messaged me, asking if I could draw their pets too. It was a lot of fun creating these drawings and reconnecting with old friends!
Book binding workshop
At UAL, London College of Communication, we have the opportunity to attend workshops in 3D printing, bookbinding, letterpress, and more! I attended the bookbinding workshop, which covered three main bookbinding techniques: Coptic stitch, face-to-face, and Japanese book stitch. We started with the easier bookbinding techniques and progressed to the more difficult one, the Japanese book stitch.
Letterpress workshop
I learned so much during the letterpress workshop. We began by exploring 12pt and 24pt types, which are equivalent to the point sizes used in InDesign fonts. Since the letters are made of lead, a poisonous material, we made sure to wash our hands frequently to prevent any risk of contamination. After inking the small 12pt metal type, we used the Vandercook proof press to ensure an even distribution of ink across the type.
